Artistic process
Installation: "Ventre de pluie", Belgica Sculptura, 1997.
Following
her imagination and taming her environment, Marianne Poulot sets out paraffine
cones to collect rain water.
Using neutral materials she tries to work in
harmony with her environment to capture its secret forces, tensions and emotianal
significance.
No damage is made to the tree, paraffin doesn'nt allow any disrespeer,
the cones are gently tied up with strings.
Paraffin is neither an animal nor
a vegetable material.
It's crystallised by nature but synthesized by man and
it will welcome many insects for the installation will become part of nature.

The passer by won't be already to forget the place and althrough Marianne Ponlot's
installations are ephemeral, they are intented to remain intact in memories and
to arouse a constantly renewed amazement towards our surroundings.
 Installations
coutaining paraffin always look new because they appear in an unusual place and
because they are melt before being remodelled and reinstalled.

or creations of fragile transfer objects that try to personify the ephemeral magie
of life and its poetical relation with nature and man. "
